In June 2008, park officials convened public scoping meetings about the future of the Carbon River Road. Information summarizing these meetings and public comments received is posted here. The Superintendent will issue a notice when the Carbon River Access Management Environmental Assessment is released for those wishing to provide public comments.

The Paradise meadows were once home to a golf course, rope tows for skiers, and to Camp of the Clouds. All of these activities damaged the meadows, as does walking off-trail. Management practices have changed over the years, and we now protect and restore our precious subalpine meadows.
