Current Conditions

Winter weather can change quickly. Stay safe and check the local weather authorities for the latest information: National weather service.
Closures will be posted on Alerts and on social media.
Winter wind storms can cause hazardous conditions in the park.

  • The park will close at sustained winds of 35 mph or more.
  • Trails will close at sustained winds of 25 mph or more.

Park Sites:

  • Visitor Center is open 7 days a week. Check operating hours and seasons.
  • Netul Landing is open for day use recreation, including the kayak/canoe launch and exhibits at North Netul Landing. Limited pit toilets access. Open dawn to dusk.
  • The Fort to Sea Trailhead parking is open. Limited pit toilets access along trail. Open dawn to dusk
  • The Fort to Sea Trailhead parking lot at Sunset Beach State Recreation site is open for day use recreation. Open dawn to dusk.
  • Middle Village/Station Camp and exhibits are open for day use recreation. Open dawn to dusk.
  • Salt Works exhibit is open for day use recreation. Open dawn to dusk.
  • Dismal Nitch rest area and exhibits are open for day use recreation.
