Joshua Tree welcomes people of all abilities! We strive to make the park accessible by removing barriers and providing inclusive programming. Cell Service

  • Cell Service is generally unavailable throughout the park.
  • Free, public Wifi is available to visitors in park visitor centers.

  • If it is an emergency, call 911. If cell service is unavailable, find a park ranger.
  • Emergency phones are available at
    • Intersection Rock Parking Area near Hidden Valley Campground
    • Cottonwood Visitor Center
    • Indian Cove Ranger Station

Safety

  • Bees, snakes, and scorpions are present along trails in the warmer months.
  • Drinking water is not available anywhere in the interior of the park. You will need to carry at least 1 gallon of water per person per day during the warmer months. Water is available at the visitor centers.

Parking Placards - For Visitors

If you are visiting California and would like to use Accessible Parking spaces, you must apply for a California “Temporary Parking Placard” for non-residents, good for up to 180 days. Out-of-state placards are not honored in California. Visit California's DMV website.
