The Joshua Tree National Park (JTNP) Historic Photo Collection is comprised of approximately 3,000 images dating between 1889-1990. Images in this collection document a wide range of subjects including buildings, cultural landscapes, historic structures, trails, roads, wildlife, vegetation, and geographical features. There are portraits of park personnel, as well as informal and candid shots of ceremonies and other special events, park visitors, interpretive programs, museum exhibits, and staff work activities. While the collection primarily documents JOTR activities, resources, and staff, it also includes images that pre-date the 1916 establishment of the National Park Service.
