No entrance pass required

An entrance pass is not required to access Hopewell Culture National Historical Park.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

There are no entrance fees at any of Hopewell Culture National Historical Park's sites. All open park units are free to enter and enjoy from sunrise to sunset, every day of the year. There is no admission fee to enter the park's visitor center.

Entrance Fees

There are no entrance fees at any of Hopewell Culture National Historical Park's sites. All open park units are free to enter and enjoy from sunrise to sunset, every day of the year. There is no admission fee to enter the park's visitor center. Please check the visitor center's hours of operations before you arrive.

Park Specific Pass Information

Hopewell Culture National Historical Park does not sell the Annual Pass or the Senior Pass (annual & lifetime). We DO carry the following passes:

  • The Access Pass: free to ALL U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a permanent disability (Applicants must provide documentation of permanent disability and residency or citizenship - Vehicle disability hang tags are not acceptable). This Pass IS AVAILABLE at this park.
  • The Lifetime Pass for Gold Star Families and Military Veterans: This pass IS AVAILABLE at this park. Scroll down for complete information.
  • The Annual Pass for U.S. Military: free to all active duty military members and their dependents. Applicants must present a Common Access Card (CAC) or Military ID (Form 1173) to receive the pass. NOTE: This pass must be obtained in person, at a federal facility which offers it. This Pass IS AVAILABLE at this park.
  • The Annual 4th Grade Pass (Every Kid Outdoors): free to all 4th graders for the current school year and subsequent summer. Students can visit the Every Kid Outdoors website to learn how to obtain their pass. The pass will allow entry of the 4th grade card holder and their entire family. NOTE: This pass must be obtained in person, at a federal facility which offers it. This Pass IS AVAILABLE at this park.

Gold Star Families and Military Veterans Lifetime Pass

Hopewell Culture NHP carries and distributes the new Lifetime Pass for Gold Star Families and Military Veterans. In order to obtain the new pass, please ensure that you have one of the following valid and non-expired forms of identification with you when you visit the park. We cannot issue the card without one of these valid and non-expired forms of identification.

  • Veterans ID Card issued by the Veterans Administration
    (As of September 2022, the VA only provides a digital version of the Veterans ID Card. A digital image of this card is acceptable).

  • Dept. of Defense ID Card (CAC Card, DD Form 2, DD Form 2765)

  • Veteran Health ID (VHIC)

  • Veteran's designation on a state-issued U.S. driver's license or ID card

  • Gold Star Families printable voucher

Senior Pass Changes

Effective August 28th, 2017, the price of the America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass increased for the first time since 1994. The cost increased to $80 from $10 for a lifetime pass. Seniors (age 62 & older) also have the option to purchase an annual Senior Pass for $20. If purchased for four years, all four Annual Pass cards can be exchanged for a lifetime Senior Pass. Learn more about this and other passes when you visit the NPS Passes page.

PLEASE NOTE: Golden Access and Golden Age Passports are no longer sold. However, these passes will continue to be honored according to the provisions of the pass.
