Guilford Courthouse National Military Park offers self-guided cell phone walking and driving tours. Ask for a map brochure at the Visitor Center, and a park ranger will assist you with starting the tours on your smart phone device. You will explore the battlefield and visualize the events of March 15, 1781 as you listen to the Park Ranger’s narration.
The cell phone guided tours are available through the official National Park Service app. Plan to spend about 60-90 minutes for your tour.
Tours options include:
Battlefield Walking Tour or Driving Tour
This tour takes you from the Hoskins Farm all the way to the site of the Courthouse and back. You will use public roads and the park's tour road to explore the full extent of the battlefield area.
Battlefield Monuments Tour
This tour is non-linear, you can do the stops in order or you can walk to the monument clusters you find interesting and listen to the corresponding stops. Most monuments are accessible by walking trails only.
Historic Hoskins Farm Tour
This brief tour gives you background information about the Hoskins family and 18th century life.
Tour stops are DIFFERENT from the traditional tour stops that appear in the park's main brochure. The app provides audio and written instructions for how to get to each stop. The app also uses your phone's GPS to show you where you are located on the battlefield map and where the tour stops are located.
