Upon Arrival

As you arrive at Muir Beach you will encounter a paved parking lot. There are several accessible parking spaces nearest the restroom building and bridge.

Inside the Park

Adjacent to the parking lot are several amenities. The vault toilet restrooms are all accessible. Attached to the restroom building is a beach wheelchair storage shed that houses two beach wheelchairs available upon request. On the opposite side of the restroom building you will encounter a large cast bronze tactile model. This model depicts the topography of the entire Redwood Creek Watershed and contains Braille labelling. Overlooking the beach adjacent to the parking lot is a picnic table containing four accessible tables. The surface material throughout this entire area is natural material mixed with a binding agent making it firm and stable. The informational kiosk provides information regarding the conditions of some of the surrounding trails.
Past this area you will find an entry point to an accessible bridge. This is the only route that leads to the beach. This bridge contains some interpretive signgage which includes tactile elements. At the end of the bridge you will continue along an accessible trail to the beach. The surface material of this trail is firm and stable. At the end of the trail is a small overlook which contains an accessible bench. At the edge of the overlook you will encounter the steep sandy dunes. Again, this is the only access point to beach. Beach wheelchairs are made available year round.
