Visitor Center

City of Rocks National Reserve lies in south-central Idaho on the northern edge of the Great Basin. This unique area offers scenic walks near the historic California Trail and opportunities for wildlife watching, photography, world-class technical rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and camping.

The visitor center located in Almo and wayside exhibits located along main roads through the park, provide opportunities to become acquainted with the Reserve's significance and special resources.

There are 64 standard campsites with tables and fire rings. Most campsites also have a tent pad. Water stations and vault toilets are centrally located through out the reserve.

Cabins, bed & breakfasts, general store, natural hot spring, auto service, and restaurant are located in Almo.

Did You Know?
The uplifted and eroded rocks at City of Rocks National Reserve are like an open window into the earth where visitor and scientist can view tectonic events that raised the mountainous interior of the western United States, and weather that shapes the current landscape.
