Cape Lookout National Seashore
Weather

Storm clouds gather across the sound from a group of kayaks pulled up on the beach.
Jeff Lovett, NC Outward Bound.
Keeping an eye on the weather is important at Cape Lookout National Seashore. The open water expanses that must be crossed to reach the park can become unsafe during high winds or during rainstorms.

Weather conditions can change rapidly along the coast. Be prepared to change your plans according to the weather.
