On November 14th, the National Archives for Black Women’s History held a reception to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Bethune Museum and Archives, the predecessor to the current Mary McLeod Bethune Council House NHS.

Rangers Save Life In Attempted Suicide
A ranger who came upon an apparently abandoned vehicle on a parkway overlook found that the owner was thought to be suicidal. A search was begun and he was found semi-conscious and unresponsive about 100 yards down an embankment the next day. He was flown to a hospital and is expected to fully recover.

Man Apprehended In Bull Elk Poaching Case
Rangers found the carcass of a bull elk in a pasture in the Cataloochee area last Friday. An investigation led them to a North Carolina man who confessed to the offence.
