2024 Programs:
- Behind the Scenes: A Backstage Tour: Join Ranger Will as we wander into the woods to see and hear what goes into a Theatre-in-the-Woods performance!
- Wolf Trap Walk: Join Ranger Jonathan as we journey through time to learn the story of Wolf Trap and the National Park Service!
- Map Orienteering: Join Ranger Turk as we learn to orient our maps to the surrounding landscape and go on a short walk along the trails.
- Tree Identification: Join Ranger Turk as we learn to identify specific native trees that grow in Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts by studying their leaves and other structures.
- Birds in the ‘Burbs: Join Ranger Amy as we discuss and identify common Northern Virginia birds.
- Pollinators: Join Ranger Katelyn as we wonder through the Meadow and learn the world of pollinators.
- Being a Ranger: Join Ranger Katelyn to learn about the National Park Service and how to be the best steward.
- The Anatomy of Wolf Trap Creek: Join Ranger Turk as we learn the basics of the stream from which the park got its name.
On select Wednesdays:

Wolf Trap Woodland Garden: Join Master Gardeners for a fun and interactive tour of the Wolf Trap Woodland Garden. Native gardening in a natural setting will be explored. The wildlife living in the garden will be identified as the stream is crossed, trails are followed, and wetland is explored by stepping across log steps.
Two different Ranger Programs are offered at 11:45 am and 12:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday during our Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods season*. Programs meet at the kiosk in the meadow and are about 20 minutes in length. Find the schedule of Ranger Programs at the Footbridge or below. For future dates call (703) 255-1824 to find out which Ranger Programs will be available on the day of your visit. Programs are free and recommended for kids five and older.
*Ranger programs are canceled for rain or if the day has been determined to have "Code Red" Air Quality.
