Permits & Reservations

Want to take a field trip to Whitman Mission?

We love field trips! Whitman Mission usually sees around 5,000 students a year, so we ask that you contact us to make a reservation before bringing your class to the site. Teachers looking to schedule a school field trip can visit our Plan a Field Trip page or contact our education coordinator to make a reservation and learn more.

Want to host an event, take photos, or film at Whitman Mission?

You might need a Special Use Permit! National Park Service sites are wonderful places to host that long awaited family reunion picnic, snap the best wedding photos, or film a documentary, but these activities may require a Special Use Permit to ensure that the natural and cultural resources are being protected.

Group events involving 25 people or more need a permit, even if you are not requesting ranger-led activities. Most filming and photography requires a permit as well. Visit our Special Use Permit page for more information.

Want to bring your organization or tour group to Whitman Mission?

We are looking forward to having you! Whether you want to schedule a ranger guided tour, watch the park film, or simply walk the grounds on your own, we ask that you make a reservation before bringing your group to the site. Group leaders can contact us or visit our Schedule a Group Visit page for more information.
