Notes on Language:This tour is called DC Queer Walking Tour. The use of the word queer is an intentional choice. While we acknowledge the term holds a negative connotation for some, we use it to create the most inclusive cohort of stories possible. For our contributors, many of whom identify as queer, the term reflects how they understand themselves and with historical figures who did not have or did not use terms like Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender or Nonbinary. |
