Directions
The South District of Shenandoah National Park spans from the Swift Run Gap Entrance Station at U.S. Rt. 33 to the Rockfish Gap Entrance Station off U.S. Rt. 205 and I-64. Most hikes are accessible via Skyline Drive, though some are accessible from the park boundary. Locations are given by mile markers along Skyline Drive. Facilities and Services
Most facilities are services are open from spring to fall and close during the winter. Make sure to check operating hours and seasons before your trip.
• Food and water: Loft Mountain Wayside has food and shopping options. The only picnic grounds in the South District is Dundo (mile 83.7).
• Restrooms: Restroom facilities are available at Loft Mountain Wayside, as well as picnic grounds and campgrounds. Some facilities close for the winter season.
• Camping and lodging: Campgrounds in the South Distric include Loft Mountain Campground and Dundo Group Campground. Learn more about lodging and camping.
