Thing to Do
Wander Through the Joshua Trees

Driving along Cima Road takes you through the heart of the Joshua tree forest. The dense concentration of plants in this area makes it a great place to check out these iconic members of the yucca family. Take a leisurely drive, or pull over and explore on foot. Although about 1/3 of the Preserve's Joshua Trees were burned during the August 2020 Dome Fire, many healthy individuals remain. We recommend walking the Teutonia Peak trail if you want to get close to Joshua trees impacted by that fire. This area is hot during the summer, so plan ahead.
