Thing to Do
Visit the Jean Baptiste Vallé House
Built in 1794 for one of the last commandants of Ste. Genevieve, the Jean Baptiste Vallé House is one of many vertical log homes still standing in historic downtown. The Vallé family was a prominent family and had a hand in most of the industries that supported the community. The house was a private residence for many years and reflects the cultural changes that touched Ste. Genevieve over the years.
Visit the Jean Baptiste Vallé House to unwrap the layers of change. The grounds are open year round. The interior is open during scheduled ranger programs.
Free ranger-guided tours are offered daily, depending on staffing and weather. Tours are limited to 15 individuals and free tickets are required. Tour tickets are available at the Welcome Center on a first come, first served basis. Tour sign-ups close five minutes prior to the listed tour start time. See our calendar for upcoming tours and programs.
Advanced reservations are always required for groups of 15 or more. Group reservations can be made by email or by calling 573-880-7189.
