The historic White Haven estate is the centerpiece of Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. Grant's home, White Haven is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Ranger talks about the home are usually offered at the top of each hour at the front porch, with the first program beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the last program at 4:00 p.m.
Advance reservations are not required. There is no fee to see the home.
Reservations ARE required for groups of 15 or more people. Group reservations can be made by calling Reservations Manager Ashton Farrell at 314-842-1867 ext. 230.

Pets are not allowed inside White Haven except service animals. A service animal is defined as “any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability”. Dogs are the only animals that can be used as a service animal except for miniature horses.

The historic White Haven estate is about 75 yards east of the Visitor Center and is accessbile by walking trace.

No reservations are required. A maximum of 20 people are allowed inside White Haven at one time, access is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations ARE required for groups of 15 or more people. Contact Reservations Manager Nick Sacco at 314-842-1867 ext. 229 to schedule a reservation.

Talks are offered on a daily basis on the front porch. On most days, talks are scheduled every hour with the first at 10:00 a.m. and the last at 4:00 p.m.
Accessibility Information
The historic White Haven estate and adjacent outbuildings are approximately 400 feet up a gradual incline from the visitor center. An accessible entrance into White Haven for wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices is available on the eastern side of the home, roughly 100 yards from the Visitor Center. All but one room on the main floor of the house is wheelchair accessible. The historic Winter Kitchen in the basement of the house is only accessible by stairs. Park staff can provide a binder with photographs and interpretive text from the winter kitchen upon request. All outbuildings are accessible. Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are available for guided house tours upon request, and a short film presentation in the historic dining room features an induction loop for visitors with T-coil enabled hearing aids.
