RVing the Natchez Trace Parkway

Recreational vehicles are a popular way to see the parkway. The length restriction for RVs is 55 feet, including a tow vehicle, and the height restriction is 14 feet.
Be on the lookout for cyclists! The Natchez Trace Parkway is a designated bicycling route. With a lane width of 11 feet and little to no shoulder, it is important to slow down, pass with care, and avoid distracted driving.
Please note that when Mount Locust, at milepost 15.5, is closed, there is no circular drive available for RVs to easily turn around. To make the most of your trip, be sure to check the park's current operating hours before you head out on the road!

Camping
The three campgrounds along the parkway are open to RVs, but there are no hookups available. These campsites are first-come, first-served, and can fill up quickly in March and April, as well as October and November. If hook up are required you may want to check out some of the other campground just off the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Accessibility Information
All campground spots have paved parking areas and accessible bathrooms nearby. The three Natchez Trace Parkway Campgrounds also have a limited number of ADA accessible camp spots. These spots are usually located closet to the bathrooms. These accessible camp spots have wheelchair accessible picnic tables and fire rings/grills. The also over more paved surface for people to move around the camp site.

Rocky Springs Campground, milepost 54.8, on the southern end of the Parkway, includes a 22-site campground, picnic tables, intermittent restrooms, a section of the Old Trace, self-guiding walking trails through the old town site. Campground sites are on a first come first served basis, no reservations. Pull-through and back-in sites are available. Campgrounds are typically the busiest during the spring and fall, especially during holiday weekends. Potable water may be an issue. Plan to be self-contained.

Jeff Busby Campground at milepost 193.1, midway on the Parkway, includes an 18-site campground, picnic tables, restrooms, trails, exhibits and an overlook atop Little Mountain. Campground sites are on a first come first served basis, no reservations. Pull-through and back-in sites are available. Campgrounds are typically busiest during the spring and fall, especially during holiday weekends. There is no fee for camping. There is a 14 day stay limit.

The Meriwether Lewis Campground at milepost 385.9, on the northern end of the Parkway, has 32 sites. All sites are free and available on a first-come, first served basis. They do not offer electricity, showers, or dump stations. Drinkable water and flush toilets are available on site.
