Thing to Do
Riverside Bike Trail

Just inside the park’s West entrance, bicycles can travel a short distance (1.4 mi, 2.2 km) on the Riverside Trail to Barns road. This trail gives access to a section of the Madison River. This is a fairly level trail and mountain bikes are recommended on the dirt and gravel road.
Alerts: Be alert for black and grizzly bears
The terrain on this trail is mostly flat and could be accessed by a hand-cycle with mountain bike tires. The surface is an old paved road that is starting to disintegrate. Qualified service dogs are permitted in the backcountry, but travel with dogs in the backcountry is not without risks. Please be aware that having a service animal in the backcountry may put you at increased risk for confrontations with wolves, bears, and other wildlife.
