From 1917 to 1943, Ashley Pond Jr. founded the Los Alamos Ranch School in 1917 next to a small pond. The school it remained in operation until 1943. Today, you can visit the pond, named Ashley Pond in his honor, and view wildlife, have a picnic, or just enjoy the view throughout the year.
