Gettysburg Junior Ranger Program

Junior Rangers learn about the roles and responsibilities of Civil War soldiers.

Discover the history of Gettysburg National Military Park through the Junior Ranger Program, a project for our young visitors to have fun while they learn about the importance and and history that is Gettysburg. The Junior Ranger program is an opportunity for children to apply what they discover on their visit to Gettysburg to make their visit one they will not soon forget!
 

How does it work?

When you visit Gettysburg National Military Park, ask for the Activity Guide at the information desk in the Visitor Center. Complete at least three of the seven activities in the booklet during your day at the park. These activities include completing answers to questions about exhibits in the Museum of the Civil War at the park Visitor Center, questions about the Gettysburg Address and President Lincoln’s visit to dedicate the Soldiers' National Cemetery, describe a ranger-guided program that you attend, answer puzzles from your tour of the battlefield and proivde short answers about some of the many monuments in the park.

The Junior Ranger program engages children and their families together in fun, hands-on, self-directed learning activities. The program enhances the park experience, creates fond, long-lasting memories, and promotes appreciation for our national treasures.

The Junior Ranger Program is a interactive program that will take you through the visitor center, battlefield and the David Wills House. Activities range from word searches to sketching a monument!
