Forest Discovery Center
The Forest Discovery Center is an interactive program for families to learn about nature. Activities include hands-on learning stations, demonstrations, and arts and crafts. Stop by anytime and spend as little or as much time as you want. This free program will explore a new weekly theme, making each visit unique.
When: Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from June 22nd - September 7th, 2024.
Where: Meet at the Forest Center, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, Woodstock, VT.
Parking for Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is located at the Billings Farm & Museum. If using a GPS, please enter "69 Old River Rd, Woodstock, VT 05091". To enter the National Park, take the paved path to the right of the Billings Farm & Museum Visitor Center, walk up and cross the street, and then take the right fork and walk 1/8 mile to reach the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park Forest Center.
Cost: Free! No registration is required.
Schedule: Please join us for this family-friendly story-time program, where we will learn about and connect with nature! The format of the program will be loosely as follows:
- 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: Arrivals and free-play
- 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Introductions and story
- 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Nature-themed activity
- 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Free play and goodbyes

Junior Ranger Program
The Forest Discovery Center is an interactive program for families! Activities include hands-on learning stations, arts and crafts, and a reading/puppet corner. Stop by anytime and spend as little or as much time as you want. This free program will explore a new theme each week, making each visit unique.
Age(s)
Everyone is welcome at the Forest Discovery Center, but this program was designed especially for kids ages eight and under. Storybooks and activities are chosen with this age group in mind. Please note that an adult companion must accompany children for the duration of the program.

Activities will take place both in and outdoors. Pets must remain outdoors with an owner. Service animals are welcome in park buildings.
