Explore the park using the Wolf Trap Trail to see more than just a show at Wolf Trap. Take your pup or meet up with friends to go on a hike at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. There are two overlapping trails in the park that provide opportunities for visitors to hike and bird watch.

Trail maps are available at the Ranger Station and available for download. Follow the blazes or posts to navigate the trails. Please note that swimming, wading, hunting, and camping are not permitted in the park.

There are two overlapping trails in the park that provide opportunities for visitors to hike and bird watch.
Pets are permitted in the park. They must be restrained on a leash of no more than six feet in length. Pet owners/handlers are responsible for removing pet excrement.
There is no entrance fee at Wolf Trap. If you plan to visit other parks with an entrance fee, learn more about the America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass series and fee-free entrance days in National Parks.

The park is open to the public from 7:00 am to dusk every day with the exception of New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day when the park is closed.

Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts

The park is open to the public from 7:00 am to dusk every day with the exception of New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day when the park is closed. During the performance season, the park is closed to public visitation which is not performance related during park festivals and Filene Center performances. This restriction begins two hours prior to show times and ends one hour after performances have completed. The park is closed from dusk to 7:00 am except to those attending authorized events.

Accessibility Information
Both the Wolf Trap TRACK Trail and the Wolf Trap Trail have steep inclines, rugged terain and are not wheelchair accessible.

Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods

Spend summer mornings with your children at America's only National Park for the Performing Arts! Down a meadow path, over a bridge and nestled among a circle of trees is the enchanted outdoor theater that has been a summer tradition of families for generations.

A performance is offered Tuesday - Saturday mornings from late June to early August. Tickets are $10 or $12 depending on the show. Children under 2 are free. Recommended for children pre-K through 6th grade.
