Over the years, the?Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Cinerama films, and the Detroit Opera?Theater?have called the venue home.?Past performers?include?Nina Simone, Etta James, and Billie Holiday.?Today,?Music Hall?continues to host various ticketed and free events?on two stages.

The Detroit Opera House, located one block away, is another ornate structure associated with the city’s music scene. Designed by C. Howard Crane, this historic theater opened in 1922.
