Discover the murals

Since 2015, Detroit’s annual public arts festival (known as Murals in the Market) has produced over new 30 murals each year. From colorful, abstract creations to political pieces, visitors can find a mural or two on almost every block. Mural subjects vary from celebrations of Detroit’s history and culture to commentary on current events. To see the hundreds of public art pieces scattered throughout 43-acre area, visit the Eastern Market Historic District. Guided tours and bike rentals are available.
