Become a Junior Ranger at Vicksburg National Military Park

The Junior Ranger program helps kids get involved and learn more about Vicksburg National Military Park. Anyone can become a Junior Ranger by completing activities during a visit to the park.
When you visit Vicksburg National Military Park, ask for the Junior Ranger Booklet at the information desk in the Visitor Center. Complete activities in the booklet during your visit based on age of the Junior Ranger. These activities include completing answers to questions about exhibits at the Visitor Center and Cairo Museum, questions about monuments, and designing your own battle flag.
Once the book is completed, return it to the Visitor Center to pick up your official Junior Ranger Badge.

The Junior Ranger program engages children and their families together in fun, hands-on, self-directed learning activities. The program enhances the park experience, creates fond, long-lasting memories, and promotes appreciation for our national treasures.

The Junior Ranger program is free. No entrance fee will be required. An entrance pass will be required to access the tour road.

Pick up a copy of the Junior Ranger Booklet at the Vicksburg National Military Park Visitor Center. The Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
