Overview 

Can’t make it to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore?  The Chat with a Ranger program is a great way for students to find out more about Sleeping Bear Dunes and the National Parks. Please e-mail us and tell us you’d like to schedule a distance learning program and give us a preferred date for a test call and the virtual ranger visit. 

 

Objectives 

After completing these lessons, students will be able to 

  • List two reasons why Sleeping Bear Dunes is a National Park Service site 
  • Think like a scientist by observing and then documenting and describing their observations

Required Equipment 

Distance Learning programs are being scheduled using various webcam software, often using what teachers are using in their classrooms.  

There is also the option to use WebEx. This will require an internet connection and a separate phone line for the audio.
