Volunteers-in-Parks (VIPs) work side-by-side with National Park Service employees in parks and programs across the nation to help preserve our nation’s most precious natural, historical, recreational, and cultural treasures.
April 21 - 27, 2024
Each year, we celebrate National Volunteer Week to recognize the contributions of our volunteers. National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 and has grown exponentially each year, with thousands of volunteer projects and special events scheduled throughout the week. Whether online, at the visitor center, or on the trail, doing good in parks comes in many forms, and we recognize and celebrate them all.

The planting is the result of many years of planning, consultation, and preparation. As it grows, the orchard will represent the agricultural history of the site.
