    Mammoth Cave National Park will host a day of children’s activities and special ranger-led presentations celebrating the musical collaboration between the Louisville Orchestra and Mammoth Cave National Park at the park’s outdoor amphitheater on Saturday, April 29. The events will take place between 9 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. CDT.

    Homestead National Monument of America is looking for practicing artists wanting to find inspiration from our rich cultural and natural resources in 2020. The deadline for accepting applications is October 31, 2019, via mail or email. Artists will be notified of selections by the end of November. Artists can be fine art painters, sculptors, fine art photographers, performers, writers, video/filmmakers, composers, etc. These artists will channel their individual talent into one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the homestead story and park environment.

    On Sunday, June 9, 2019, at 2 p.m., Homestead National Monument of America Artist-in-Residence Benjamin Justis will hold an interactive program on nature in music and modern composition followed by the group heading outside to create an improvised musical piece of their own on the prairie. This is a great creative program for visitors of all ages to learn about music and participate in musical composition.
