Writing Prompts

Opinion: Karana notices a ship on the horizon and believes it belongs to the Aleuts. Would you have hidden from the Aleuts or would you have tried to communicate with them? Support your answer with reasons and provide a concluding statement related to your opinion.

Informative/explanatory: Describe at least two differences and two similarities between sea caves and land (dry) caves. Use precise language and domain-specific vocabulary.

Narrative: Describe a time when you visited a place where you felt scared and unsafe. What did you do to help yourself feel better? Orient the reader by establishing a situation. Organize a sequence that unfolds naturallly.
