Leontii Hagemeister
Leontii Hagemeister was Chief Manager of the Russian American Company (RAC) in Sitka, Russian Alaska, in 1818. Hagemeister learned about the 1814 massacre of the Nicoleños by RAC hunters. He wrote to Ivan Kuskov, manager of Fort Ross in California, and demanded that the Russian overseer of the Alaska Native hunters be sent to St. Petersburg to answer questions about the massacre.
