May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!
Tap into the power of parks for health with us: Parks can be places for everyone to have fun, connect with their history and culture, and lead healthier, happier, lives. Join us this month as we celebrate the beauty of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities through virtual conversations, articles and more. Learn more about what the National Park Service is doing to recognize AAPI Heritage Month and explore new stories by visiting the AAPI Heritage Subject Site.
Opportunities to Engage
- May 26: Join the conversation on the Power of Parks for Health! The NPS Office of Public Health and the National Environmental Education Foundation are joining forces to host a Power of Parks for Health Roundtable, Wednesday, May 26 6:30-8:00 pm EDT to highlight stories and experiences of individuals who identify with Asian American and Pacific Islander communities through the lens of health.
- We encourage visitors, parks and partners to use #MakingSpaceForEveryFace, #YourParkYourHealth and the #PowerofParksForHealth throughout the year for social media outreach to promote multicultural awareness in parks. For more information on activities for this month, visit May Monthly Themes - Partnerships (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov).
