Earth Science Week
Earth Science Week will be held from October 10-16, 2021 and will celebrate the theme "Water Today and for the Future." The theme will emphasize both the inclusive potential of the geosciences and the importance of the geosciences in the lives of all people.The National Park Service has been a partner with the American Geosciences Institute and a supporter of the Earth Science Week partnership since its inception in 1998. Parks around the country offer special geologic programs during Earth Science Week.
National Fossil Day
Through the Earth Science Week partnership, National Fossil Day was created in 2010. National Fossil Day is the Focus Day on Wednesday during Earth Science Week. National Fossil Day is an annual celebration held to highlight the scientific and educational value of paleontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations.
