Meet Kristy Burnett, a regular Colorado girl who enjoys brewing beer, walking her dog, and riding her bike. She is also a Communications Specialist with the science directorate of the National Park Service. Her favorite part of working for the NPS is the belief that the work she does makes a difference.

Favorite camping memory as a child?
I actually didn't camp until I was an adult.

Favorite thing about camping?
Saying goodbye for a few days to chores, screens, traffic, etc.

Most memorable camping experience?
Running from a hailstorm with my boys.

Favorite camp activity?
Stargazing

Must-have item?
Half and half for my coffee!

Any wildlife sightings?
Mainly moose

Favorite park to camp in?
Colorado State Forest State Park

Dream park to camp in?
That list is more like an inverted pyramid...too many parks at the top.

Advice to a first-time camper?
Just do it!
