Camping with Brittni Connell

Meet Brittni Connell, a Visual Information Specialist with the Science Directorate of the NPS.
During her 7 years at the park service she found she loves the feeling of making a difference and being able to share park experiences with future generations. When she is not at work she enjoys hiking with her husband and dogs, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends.

Favorite childhood camping memory?
I remember camping for a school field trip. We had fun telling ghost stories and trying to scare each other before bed, but we mostly ended up laughing until we were told to be quiet and go to sleep.

Last camping trip?
Rocky Mountain National Park last summer.

Favorite thing about camping?
Getting away from “everyday life” to enjoy the outdoors. And campfires!

Advice for a first time camper?
Don’t underestimate how cold it can get at night, even on the warmest, sunniest days. Bring layers!
