Public Health

Disease, longevity, mental and physical health, sanitation, and hygiene are all components of public health. Archeology helps us to learn about public health throughout time, even before the invention of modern medicene and medical recordkeeping. It documents what happens when a visitors introduce a disease that obliterates a population. It shows the strategies used by people to have enough food to eat and safe water to drink. And it demonstrates the ways that access to resources can sustain or deplete the body's health.
