Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park is looking for volunteers for two volunteer events this March.
On Saturday, March 2, Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park will partner with the Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve, National Center for Preservation Technology and Training, and City of Ste. Genevieve to host Maintain Memorial headstone cleaning day in Ste. Genevieve’s historic Memorial Cemetery. From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, volunteers will work alongside park staff to clean and preserve the historic headstones honoring many of Ste. Genevieve’s earliest residents.
On Saturday, March 23, Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park will host Garden Glow Up, the park's third annual garden clean-up day, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers will work with park staff to weed, prune, and mulch the rose garden at the Jean Baptiste Vallé House. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to participate. The modern rose garden at the Jean Baptiste Vallé House reflects the garden planted and tended to by the home’s colonial residents. In case of inclement weather, the rain date for the event is Saturday, March 30.
Individuals interested in either event can register to volunteer through www.volunteer.gov. More information is available on our Volunteer web page or by emailing e-mail us. Volunteers will receive a Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park Volunteer water bottle as a thank you for their service.
