D.H. Day Campground is located within the Leelanau District of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, an area administered by the National Park Service. The campground is located 7.5 miles north of Empire and 1.5 miles west of Glen Arbor on M-109 at 8000 W. Harbor Hwy, Glen Arbor, MI 49636. Note that the D.H. Day Group Campground is located at a different location. It is just north of the Dune Climb on M-109 then turn west on Harwood Rd. Parties camping at D.H. Day Group Campground must check in at the main D.H. Day Campground & pay their park entrance fee before setting up camp. ENTRANCE FEE: A park pass is required for all vehicles using the campground, including those who are visiting campers. The pass must be displayed in the vehicle dashboard. Weather Sleeping Bear Dunes is located in northern lower Michigan. You want to come equipped for any condition that may present itself as lake-borne weather patterns can change quickly. The well-advised visitor dresses in layers, prepared for a variety of conditions. Summer days have highs ranging from upper 70's to 90's with lows typically in the 50's to 70's. Winter days have highs ranging from 20's to 30's and lows in the 10's to 20's. Snow is usually on the ground from late November through March. ADA Information - D.H. Day Campground has one accessible campsite, on packed soil, with a vault toilet adjacent. Water spigots supply water throughout the campground but are not at each site. An RV dump station is located at the entrance to the campground. Wheelchair Access - The Log Cabin shelter, amphitheater, campground office, and additional campground vault toilets are accessible. A boardwalk with a bench leads to the campground beach.
