Working a visitor information desk
  • Knee-locking, fainting
  • Sedentary-related hazards
  • Standing with legs “loose”, moving around, stretching, taking breaks from standing as needed.
  • Moving around, stretching, taking walking breaks as needed.
Office work
  • Cuts and other general first aid incidents
  • Back injuries
  • Slips, trips, falls
  • Proper training in office equipment, access to First Aid kits and other emergency equipment
  • Use proper lifting techniques, but also tools for moving large objects such as dollies.
  • Beware of slip, trip, and fall hazards. Use ladders and other equipment properly.
Outdoor activities
  • Hot-weather hazards
  • Cold-weather hazards
  • Severe-weather hazards
  • Walking over uneven surfaces
  • Drink plenty of water, avoid standing in the sun for prolonged times, and seek rest in shaded, cool locations
  • Dress appropriately for the weather
  • Seek shelter when the weather feels unsafe or is unsafe
  • Beware of trip, slip, and fall hazards.
Customer service Negative visitor interactions
  • Hand off visitor interaction to a Ranger, contact VIP Coordinator if needed
  • Escalate to law enforcement if needed at any point!
  • Do not interact with visitor beyond what you feel safe. Be smart and aware of personal security.
