The Tinajas Project: Volunteer Information

Horizontal image. A group of over a dozen volunteers stand along a dry riverbed, lined on either side with dense vegetation. They are wearing rough outdoor gear; thick cargo pants, gloves, etc. Many are carrying digging and pruning tools.
Volunteers and park staff work together to remove the invasive fountain grass that negatively impacts our desert streams.

Volunteers are a crucial part of our fountain grass pulling team. We pull invasive grasses from Saturday from October through April and are always seeking volunteers. If you or your group are interested in helping us this fall and winter, please contact us at SAGU_invasive@nps.gov.

Check out the great work accomplished so far by following the links below to photos from fountain grass pull events. Be sure to read the Fountain Grass pull prep list  below so you can be fully equipped to have fun and stay safe at an event.
