The rangers, partners, and teachers who make up the Parks for Every Classroom (PEC) team invite educators to learn and connect. On and off-site professional development opportunities are offered throughout the year. Topics have included Place-Based Education (PBE) and outdoor classrooms, using art and museum collections in the classroom, and equity-centered climate change education.WorkshopsWomen's History: National Parks to Your ClassroomAugust 7 & 8, 20249am - 4pm Explore the breadth of women’s history preserved at the national parks of New Hampshire and Vermont and the ways these often-overlooked stories can be applied across disciplines, topics, and age-levels. Day 1 of the workshop is held at Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park in Cornish, NH where participants will explore both female representation in the sculpture of Augustus Saint-Gaudens and the women who made the work possible. Day 2 at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Woodstock, VT connects women’s history to art, science, and nature at the park dedicated to the history of land conservation. This free workshop is open to all educators including classroom teachers, art educators, and librarians. A stipend of $100 is available after participating in both days of the workshop.
