Roger Williams

Nobody knows the exact dates that Roger Williams was born or died. There are also no known portraits or sculptures for which he posed. Therefore, we do not know his exact age, or what he looked like. However, we do know that in 1636, after being banished from Massachusetts for his contrary beliefs, he founded Providence as a “shelter for persons distressed of conscience.”
