Black History Month - The Tuskegee Airmen (1995)

February 21: (Starring Laurence Fishburne and Cuba Gooding Jr.)
This is the story of the Tuskegee Airman, the first all African-American fighter squadron of WWII. This movie tells of the incredible challenges these young men had to overcome on the way to becoming the most successful fighter pilots in the European Theater.

Women’s History Month - So Proudly We Hail (1943)

March 21: (Starring Claudette Colbert and Veronika Lake) This is the story of heroic Army nurses who served during the siege and fall of the Philippines during the early days of WWII.

International Month - Sahara (1943)

April 18: (Starring Humphrey Bogart) Humphrey Bogart leads an international group of allied soldiers in Northern Africa, as they fight a desperate battle against a much larger German force.

Asian History Month - Go for Broke (1951)

May 16: (Starring Van Johnson and Henry Nakamura) This is the story of the 442nd Reginal Combat a unit of Japanese-American soldiers who fought with distinction in Europe, while many of the families where interned back home.

Canal Blvd. exit off I-580 West. Left on Canal Blvd. Drive south to Shipyard 3, Berth 5 (Port of Richmond). Parking is in front of the ship.

NOTE: Gangplank entry to ship (40 feet of stairs with railings) and steep steps once aboard.
