The OASLC partners with Student Conservation Association to offer a summer internship based out of Seward, Alaska each year. This 12-14 week education and media position is geared toward individuals looking for environmental education experience with the park service. With a focus on science communication this intern works with our team to develop educational programs and create outreach and promotional materials about science in Alaska’s coastal parks.
A successful candidate will be excited about science, education, and visual media. They will be open to new experiences and have a good attitude about living in a small town surrounded by stunning mountains that are sometimes not visible for days due to rain.
Application period for summer internships is generally open in January - February for the following summer season. Hiring for this position generally happens in March.
