The Crater Lake Science and Learning Center is managed through a collaborative partnership with Southern Oregon University and the Oregon Institute of Technology. Southern Oregon University and The Oregon Institute of Technology provide staffing and support to coordinate educational/artistic programs and independent research activities/technical applications respectively. The Park retains the authority to review and approve the Center's programs and projects and assumes responsibility for management and maintenance of the Center's facilities. The Center is directly staffed with three positions including a Science Coordinator, Education Coordinator and Administrative Assistant Park staff including: the Chief of Resource Preservation and Research and the Chief of Interpretation and Cultural Resource Management provide NPS oversight.
Science Coordinator
The Science Coordinator works with the park staff to identify gaps in research information and potential applications of technology. The Science Coordinator works to broker these needs in the scientific community to augment and compliment ongoing scientific investigations by the Park. The focus of this position is to create an atmosphere that allows the Center to function effectively as a focal point for science. The position facilitates involvement and exposure of non-science individuals and groups to science. The incumbent works through the Park's Chief of Resource Preservation and Research to identify research priorities, determine resource requirements and propose short and long terms goals and strategies to achieve them.

Education Coordinator
The Education Coordinator works with the park staff to identify opportunities to advance science education and interpretation in local schools as well as with the general and visiting public. The focus of this position is to create an atmosphere that allows the Learning Center to function effectively as a focal point for science education and artistic expression. The position also facilitates involvement and exposure of non-science individuals and groups to science. The incumbent works through the Chief of Interpretation and Cultural Resource Management to identify educational priorities, determine resource requirements, and propose short or long term goals and strategies to achieve them.

Chief of Interpretation, Education, and Outreach
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant for the Center provides clerical and managerial assistance to the Center staff. The Assistant will be the on site logistical coordinator for visiting scientists, educators, students and artists. This position reserves, coordinates and provides custodial maintenance of the Center facilities, assists with budgeting, tracks and maintains Center equipment as well as maintains and updates the Center reference library. The Administrative Assistant also greets visitors and provides impromptu tours of the Center facilities to interpret the historic structures and educate members of the public on the Center's mission.
