Harry Truman once described their home in Independence, MO, as the center of their world. Independence is also along the path of the big eclipse on August 21. Join us on the grounds of the Truman Home that day for the big event. Admission is free, and entrance to the program will be by ticket only. Tickets will be available starting August 1 at the park's visitor center. In addition to viewing the eclipse, participants will also learn a bit more about the landscape of the Truman Home, and about some of the features of that landscape that aren't usually mentioned during the tours of the Truman Home. Because of limited space, tickets will be required, and there is a limit of 35 people...first come first served.

Eclipse glasses are available at the Harry S Truman National Historic Site visitor center, 223 N Main Street, Independence, MO, on a first come, first served basis. There are limited quantities.

For your safety, ensure that wherever you get your Eclipse glasses, that they are approved and safe to wear.
