Have you ever wanted to photograph the night sky? Not sure where to start? Join local photographer Chrisopher Eaton for a few hours under the stars in Colorado National Monument for an introduction on how to photograph the night sky. Learn the basics of exposure and composition that will get you started with this exciting area of photographing our public lands. Minimum requirements for optimum results:
    • A tripod ( a must - you cannot shoot the night sky without one)
    • A relatively recent camera model (released within the last 4-6 years)
    • A relatively fast lens (preferably f/2.8 or faster, but f/4 will work as well) in the 14-35 mm range
    • A fascination with the night sky
Christopher K. Eaton is a photographer, filmmaker, and writer based out of Colorado. He spends much of his time traveling across the Colorado Plateau and the American West were he works and plays on some of our nation's most amazing public lands. His recently published second book, Night Skies of the American Southwest, presents some of his night-sky photography from the region's national parks and monuments. Reservations are required, and will be available October 1st by calling 970-858-3617 ext. 360.
