Fort Pulaski National Monument invites you to help clear park trails on Saturday, September 29, 2018, for our National Public Lands Day event. While the park suffered little damage from Hurricane Florence, a lot of work remains after the storms of the past two years. Check-in is at 8 AM and work will last until 11:30. Lunch will be provided for volunteers at noon in the picnic area.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Please e-mail us to register for this event or if you have any questions.

For National Public Lands Day 2018, Fort Pulaski National Monument is focusing work on clearing and maintaining park trails. Trail restoration and maintenance keep parks and other public lands healthy and enable visitors to enjoy the health and recreational benefits of these special places now and in the future. Typical trail maintenance activities include cutting overgrown vegetation and reconstructing trail tread. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the National Scenic Trails Act, making it the perfect time to spruce up local trails and get them ready for the next 50 years.

THINGS TO BRING: Water, appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes, bug spray, sunscreen, and work/ gardening gloves if you have them.
