On August 21, 2017, a solar eclipse will cross the mainland United States for the first time in almost 100 years. The city of Vincennes and the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park are just outside the path of 100% totality of the eclipse, but will be in the path of 97% totality. Visitors are invited to join park staff and students from Rivet Middle/High School for viewing this rare astronomical event. The eclipse will start around 12:55 and end around 3:48 pm (Eastern Time). Peak 97% coverage of the sun will take place around 2:20 pm (Eastern Time). A limited number of eclipse viewing glasses will be available for you to use in viewing the eclipse. If you have any questions, please contact the park office (812-882-1776).
