Firefighters Rescued By Sonoma County Sheriff Helicopter

Point Reyes, CA – At approximately 8:01 pm on August 21, 2020, two firefighters notified Woodward Fire communications their exit route was compromised by fire. The firefighters were able to make it to a ridge clearing about 75 yards from the active fire that cut off their exit route.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office rescue helicopter Henry one was immediately requested to extract the firefighters.

By 8:42 pm, both firefighters were extracted via long line and no injuries were reported.

Thanks to the quick action by the crew on Henry 1 our Firefighters are safe. No further information will be released at this time.
